Pride.

I believe that I have gained respect from the students in most classes. We joke, we laugh, and we relate, but most importantly, we learn. And we do so through such fun methods!

Today, I introduced a writing topic to my 7th Graders, and I had never seen such joy on their bright faces. I gave these students pens and papers, and they are writing to make a difference. It's incredible the passion you can evoke in someone just by saying, "Write something that you want to change in your life."

In the sophomore class, we began poetry. As expected, everyone groaned and whined. But by the end of the lessons, these students were questioning poetry, specific methods, and even began to take some pride in their own writing! I am amazed that I was able to do that for these students. I'm thrilled to see what is to come!
